Brighton
Brighton Oval is a major multi-use sport and recreation facility and home to several sporting and recreation clubs and is widely used by the wider community.
The redeveloped Brighton Oval will provide high quality sports and recreational facilities, including three brand new purpose-built buildings for cricket/football, rugby and lacrosse, and improved community facilities including a new playspace, shelters, seating and carparks.
BELL was engaged by Cook Constructions to provide architectural services for the Brighton Sporting Complex.
The bespoke designs of the new two-storey clubroom facilities for the AFL/Cricket, Rugby and Lacrosse clubs incorporate the user needs and aspirations of each club.
Each club now has excellent views of the playing fields to optimise the spectator experience, and multipurpose change rooms (four per club) can be opened up for larger change rooms as required.
Consequently, all three clubs can host consecutive, and/or concurrent, male and female matches, creating significant economic, social and health benefits for the community, increasing participation in sport and recreation, and encouraging increased female and youth participation.
