At BELL Architecture, gathering to celebrate International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognise the skill and impact of the women across our studios nationwide. With a strong female team across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, the women of BELL continue to shape our company culture and contribute meaningfully to our industry influence.
In South Australia, our team attended the Australian Institute of Architects’ “In Balance” luncheon at Bloom, bringing together the architecture and design community for conversation around the global theme Balancing the Scales. An engaging discussion with Elaine Chia, CEO of the Naomi Milgrom Foundation, explored lived experience, professional trajectory, and influences, guided by Jasmine Placentino, co-chair of the Australian Institute of Architects Committee for Gender, Equity, Diversity & Impact, and Hannah White, Adelaide Design Week board member.
On the East Coast, our team joined UN Women Australia’s IWD luncheon at the Sydney International Convention Centre, hearing from an inspiring line-up of speakers including Jennifer Robinson, Human Rights Lawyer and Barrister; Grace Tame, Writer, Advocate, Runner; Vanessa Turnbull-Roberts, Commissioner for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Children & Young People; and Jess Hill, Walkley-Award Winning Journalist, Author, Educator. The event reinforced the importance of advocacy, visibility, and collective action in accelerating meaningful outcomes for women.
To the women of BELL and across our industry – Happy International Women’s Day!
